Full 3-Round Mid-Free Agency 2020 Mock Draft
1- Cincinnati Bengals
Joe Burrow- QB, LSU
Coming off the greatest QB season in college football history, Joe Burrow is the epitome of a slam-dunk at #1.
2- Washington Redskins
Chase Young- EDGE, Ohio State
Arguably the best player in the draft, Chase Young goes to Washington and provides an instant impact along that Washington front seven.
3- Miami Dolphins (via DET)
Tua Tagovailoa- QB, Alabama
The Dolphins stockpiled picks this past season in hopes of finding their franchise QB and rebuilding their squad. It takes a pair of their first round picks to move up and get the guy everyone expected to go #1 this year, before Burrow’s meteoric rise.
4- New York Giants
Jedrick Wills Jr.- OT, Alabama
Isaiah Simmons may be the popular pick here but based on Dave Gettleman’s style and approach, I expect him to find a franchise OT to protect Daniel Jones.
5- Detroit Lions (via MIA)
Jeffrey Okudah- CB, Ohio State
Hailed as potentially the best corner prospect since Jalen Ramsey, Jeff Okudah headlines a less-than-spectacular class at the position. Given this, and their recent trade of Darius Slay, Okudah is a perfect fit in Detroit.
6- Los Angeles Chargers
Justin Herbert- QB, Oregon
After missing out on Tom Brady, among other veteran QBs in free agency, I expect the Chargers to find their franchise guy here in Justin Herbert. Much has been made about how they feel comfortable with Tyrod Taylor and that will allow Herbert to sit patiently and learn before being thrust into the most important position for a team that is looking to win now.
7- Carolina Panthers
Isaiah Simmons- LB/S, Clemson
After Luke Keuchly’s sudden retirement this offseason, there is a gaping hole in the middle of Carolina’s defense. Isaiah Simmons is the perfect man to fill that void and lead that Panthers defense for the next decade or so.
8- Arizona Cardinals
Mekhi Becton- OT, Louisville
The Cardinals get one of the premier tackles in the draft to solidify their offensive line. After acquiring DeAndre Hopkins from Houston, protecting Kyler Murray has to be their top priority moving forward.
9- Jacksonville Jaguars
Derrick Brown- DT, Auburn
Derrick Brown has somehow flown under the radar throughout this process. With the talent at QB and OT, Brown, a top five talent, could slide a bit but he will provide a jolt to this rebuilding Jaguars defense.
10- Cleveland Browns
Tristan Wirfs- OT, Iowa
Even with the signing of Jack Conklin, the Browns need help along that O-Line and Wirfs provides just that. With sufficient talent at skill positions, a rebuilt O-Line should provide a huge boost to that Cleveland offense.
11- New York Jets
Andrew Thomas- OT, Georgia
I would not be shocked if the Jets went WR here at 11 with Jeudy and Lamb still on the board, but ultimately, OT should be their top priority in the first. New York will certainly benefit from the depth of this WR class.
12- Las Vegas Raiders
Jerry Jeudy- WR, Alabama
Having both Jeudy and Lamb on the board is best case scenario for Vegas and Jon Gruden. The Raiders have lacked a real threat in the pass game ever since they shipped Amari Cooper to Dallas.
13- San Francisco 49ers
CeeDee Lamb- WR, Oklahoma
After acquiring this pick from Indianapolis for DeForest Buckner, the Niners attain what was perhaps the one thing missing last year; a true #1 WR. CeeDee Lamb can do it all at the receiver position and provides a massive spark for San Fran’s offense.
14- Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Josh Jones- OT, Houston
Making sure Tom Brady remains upright in the pocket has to be the top priority for the Bucs. A late rise by Josh Jones sneaks him into the Top-15 and lands him in Tampa, bolstering the Bucs O-Line.
15- Denver Broncos
Henry Ruggs III- WR, Alabama
The surefire third receiver of the board, Henry Ruggs III, is a perfect fit for this Broncos offense. He’ll add a true explosive element that was missing last season.
16- Atlanta Falcons
K’Lavon Chaisson- EDGE, LSU
I really like the thought of a Chaisson/Atlanta marriage. Chaisson’s versatility will prove valuable for this Falcons defense.
17- Dallas Cowboys
Kristian Fulton- CB, LSU
The Cowboys lost Byron Jones this month after focusing on securing Dak Prescott and Amari Cooper. Kristian Fulton can slide right into that secondary and fill that void left by Jones.
18- Detroit Lions (via MIA)
Kenneth Murray- LB, Oklahoma
After picking Okudah to strengthen the secondary, the Lions turn to Kenneth Murray to anchor down the middle of the defense.
19- Las Vegas Raiders
Jordan Love- QB, Utah State
The mystery of Jordan Love is perhaps the most intriguing aspect of this year’s draft. Love has been mocked as high as Top-10 and as low as Round 2, and has arguably the best arm talent among this year’s top QBs. I truly think a team will fall in love with him and take him here in the middle of the first round. I don’t know who that team will be but if Love is here at 19, I don’t see Jon Gruden passing at the opportunity to bring him in and groom him behind Derek Carr and Marcus Mariota.
20- Jacksonville Jaguars
CJ Henderson- CB, Florida
The Jaguars would probably love to get their hands on Okudah but I think they’re better off taking someone like Derrick Brown at 9 then coming back here at 20 and taking a second tier corner, like CJ Henderson.
21- San Francisco 49ers (via PHI)
Javon Kinlaw- DT, South Carolina
With 5 tackles and 4 quarterbacks taken, some elite talent is going to slide and in this case, its Kinlaw that finds himself still on the board. San Francisco will see this as an opportunity to move up and find an instant replacement for DeForest Buckner along that defensive line.
22- Minnesota Vikings
Jalen Reagor- WR, TCU
After trading Stefon Diggs to Buffalo, the Vikings use the Bills’ first round pick to draft Jalen Reagor, who is a perfect replacement for Diggs, alongside Adam Thielen.
23- New England Patriots
Patrick Queen- LB, LSU
Defense was the strength of the Patriots last season and they’ll need to retool if they want to duplicate that success. Patrick Queen slides right into a starting role at linebacker for New England.
24- New Orleans Saints
Justin Jefferson- WR, LSU
Even after the acquisition of Emmanuel Sanders, the Saints need a WR2 of the future to slot in alongside Michael Thomas and Justin Jefferson would fit this role perfectly. This would also be a popular pick among Saints fans with Jefferson playing his college ball just down the road in Baton Rouge.
25- Minnesota Vikings
Neville Gallimore- DT, Oklahoma
The Vikings defense has been built in the trenches the last few years as the D-Line has been a great strength. I see them replenishing that group with Gallimore here in the back-end of the first round.
26- Miami Dolphins
Xavier McKinney- S, Alabama
The Dolphins need help basically everywhere and Xavier McKinney is probably the best player available at this spot. Miami needs someone to come in and provide a presence in that secondary lost with the trade of Minkah Fitzpatrick.
27- Seattle Seahawks
AJ Epenesa- EDGE, Iowa
Epenesa has received some Top-15/Top-20 buzz but I think he’ll likely land as a later first round pick. With uncertainty regarding Jadeveon Clowney, the Seahawks need a force who can get to the quarterback.
28- Baltimore Ravens
Zack Baun- LB, Wisconsin
Linebacker is likely the biggest hole on this squad and Zack Baun brings versatility and a grit that fits the mold of a Ravens linebacker. His presence in the middle of the defense could go a long way in allowing Baltimore to make a run at the Lombardi trophy.
29- Tennessee Titans
Yetur Gross-Matos, EDGE, Penn State
Gross-Matos has been viewed as a fringe first rounder but I think his pure talent and frame will push him over the edge into the top thirty-two picks.
30- Green Bay Packers
Brandon Aiyuk- WR, Arizona State
Aaron Rodgers seemed to struggle when finding a WR he could trust behind Davante Adams last season. Signing Devin Funchess to a cheap one year, prove-it deal is a nice move but adding Brandon Aiyuk here could boost this offense immensely.
31- Philadelphia Eagles (via SF)
Laviska Shenault- WR, Colorado
With this trade-down with SF, the Eagles add some future picks and are still able to get a top talent at the receiver position. Shenault is a real game-changer and will add a new element to this Eagles offense led by Carson Wentz.
32- Kansas City Chiefs
D’Andre Swift- RB, Georgia
In my opinion, Damien Williams had a real case to be MVP of this year’s Super Bowl over Patrick Mahomes. After Williams, however, the Chiefs lack serious depth at the RB position. D’Andre Swift can complement Williams well in a lethal 1–2 punch for the near future in KC.
